Mountain Pose (Tadasana)

Mountain Pose (Tadasana)

Description: Tadasana is a Sanskrit name for a basic yoga asana(pose) translated as “Mountain Pose.” The term is derived from the Sankrit words, Tada meaning “mountain” and asanas meaning “seat” or “posture.” Tadasana is the starting and ending position of  Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar).

Techniques: Stand with your big toes touching each other with approximately one-inch space between heels to make the feet parallel. Stand straight, keep the stomach in, and lengthen the spine and neck upwards. Stay in the pose for 30 seconds to 1 minute

Health Benefits: Tadasana improves posture, reduces back pain, strengthens the legs and abdomen, relieves sciatica, and reduces the effects of flat feet.
